Mulberry is best Walpole British Luxury Brand in 2012, beating off stiff competition to labels such as Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen. Not-for-profit organization that represents the British luxury industry, the Mulberry creative director Emma Hill awards ceremony held in London last night.

Who scooped Best Luxury Brand Burberry honor, while designer swimwear label Orlebar Brown won the Best Emerging British Luxury Brand. Medals of Excellence, presented to Team GB Olympians, rower Katherine Grainger and sprinter Jonnie Peacock. Previous recipients include Vivienne Westwood Glory, Lord Sebastian Coe, and Mario Testino.

"This year's winners represent some of Walpole, the most talented of all the organizations in the luxury industry and we are pleased to be recognized for their exceptional achievements," said Walpole CEO Julia Carrick. "It is extraordinary in Britain and the Olympic and Paralympic Games was a demonstration of British talent at its very best. In this regard, we are pleased to award two truly inspirational person, Katherine Grainger and Jonnie Peacock, with special Walpole Medals of Excellence, in recognition of their outstanding sporting success. "
